COURSE DESCRIPTION

These courses provide a prerequisite for success of any Lean Six Sigma deployment is the active ownership and sponsorship of the deployment by the Senior Leaders within the organization.  This course provides Senior Leaders and Project Sponsors with an understanding of the power of Lean Six Sigma, the requirements for sustainable success and their critical role in the process. (Recommended as a prerequisite of ongoing process owner consulting and support.)

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

The first day of the course is delivered as an interactive, business simulation. This simulation has the participants assume roles within an organization and apply the DMAIC/DFSS improvement methodology and improvement tools on the simulated process. As a team, they move a poorly functioning process to higher levels of performance through the use of the methods and tools including project chartering, process capability, process mapping, narrowing critical process variables, Pareto charts, histograms, box plots, descriptive statistics, run charts, cause and effect matrix and developing and implementing pilot solutions. This workshop further encompasses more depth in the following areas:

  • The history of Lean and Six Sigma, and their evolution into Lean Six Sigma
  • The critical roles in the Lean Six Sigma organization, including that of Leadership & Project Sponsor
  • Overview of deployment strategy
  • An overview of the powerful Project Identification and Selection process
  • An initiation into the power of Change Management and Communication.

After completing the course, the participants will be prepared to be effective in their role as Leadership & Project Sponsors/Process Owners.
